All three happen to be Sinatra tunes by accident because I've been listening to him a lot this week.

That's Life, My Way and Strangers in the Night is just so much fun to play. And if you think the jazz chords are a pain in My Way, like me, just put a capo on second and it makes a world of a difference. I can post the chords if anyone likes.

But how the melody just goes up and down and follows Frank's voice and at times goes half an octave up and it gets more exciting, man that's just to die for.

I dare you to play these tune and not have a huge grin on your face at the end. :D

    That's all folks:cool:

I like him. I've never tried to play along. I did attempt Ray Charles and was happy and wearing a grin. :)

You'd get a kick out of it! Which Ray Charles tune did you have a go at?

Due to subject matter, I'm not sure my current play alongs should be grin inducing, but they have one thing in common that has me working on them: 6/8 time. Hallelujah and Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I love playing the chords to "wreck" on my acoustic.

Good idea to play along with different stuff than you're used to. I do that once in blue moon, should be more frequently.

I played in a wedding band for quite a few years.
    "The way you look tonight"
    "Let's fall in love"
    "My way"
These were burned into my brain.
    Frank is the man though.

That's exactly what I mean, I should've done this years ago. Didn't think it would be this much fun.

    Blue moon that's I-VI-II-V right?

I don't remember which song I played with. I was watching the movie "Ray".

That was a great movie. I have it on my to do list, to learn how to play Georgia on acoustic guitar, fingerpicking style. It's one of the greatest songs ever.

Bit late to the party Mr Sue. Did you forget Fly Me To The Moon, or haven't you got there yet? Georgia is one of my favourites too, can't beat a bit of Hoagy...

I'm running through the list, I played that today actually. Love that Dm7 chord, love the brass part. Really jazzy rhythm, great tune!

I don't know what kept me from exploring this territory, it's really fun and I've always enjoyed Sinatra.

Was playing this earlier today, man.. You get goosebumps just by playing it. Not that I'm playing it remotely as beautiful as the original. Just strumming it, I love it.
