Man, hard to believe it took that long to put a time lapse camera in the Space Needle. I know the place is still growing like crazy, but I'd love to see a time lapse from when I first lived there in '83 to today. The most obvious development in this time-lapse is around South Lake Union and the north end of what used to be called the Denny Regrade toward the Seattle Center and Queen Anne. But from the early 80's is when most of the really big downtown towers went up. I was a city planner there then and I used to go up to that overlook park partway up Queen Anne and just about do my own time lapse looking south over downtown. God, I loved that city. Not sorry we moved - I love where we are now too and a lot about getting around Seattle is getting pretty intolerable if you don't live within walking distance of stuff. But, man, I used to live at 3rd and Blanchard, work at City Hall (and in the Smith Tower for a while), and stop at Pike Place for fresh stuff for dinner on the way home almost every night. That was a sweet time and place... -Ray
