I recently ordered a hybrid Silicon/Germanium Fuzz Face style pedal, and it should arrive soon. According to the builder, it can be pushed with a tube screamer, so I assume it doesn't have the typical FF problems with buffered pedals. I would like to know what tips do you have for this style of pedals. Thanks.

Experiment with your guitar volume knob, roll it back just a wee bit and listen to how it changes.

I've also read it's good to experiment with the gain knob, sicnce the pedal's tone also changes at different gain levels.

All of the above. Fuzz is in its own category and you’ll find a lot of different tones by experimenting.

    What pedal did you get?

It's a brand called JRR Pedals, from a seller in Reverb called JRR Shop. The pedal sounds very nice in the demo videos, and it's reasonably priced.

Fuzz faces and Tonebender fuzzes go first in line so they interact best with guitars volume knob. They both like to go into an amp that’s breaking up at least some some if you can’t crank the amp run a drive pedal after the fuzz. Tube Screamers can help lift a fuzz face up in the mix since the fuzz is scooped and TS is mid hump. This is why jimi’s Fuzz sounded great into a Marshall that’s got more mids. Fuzz is kind of my favorite thing about electric guitars and I’ve owned at least 30 or more fuzz face and FF clones and about 10 Tonebender clones.
