    There's a few differences to consider;

    Fretboard radii, scale length, string spacing, tremolo, belly cut, forearm relief, tone wood, pickups, to name a few.

    Hold on to the guitar and persevere. Your guitar will only increase in value over time.

    So last night after taking thoughts and insight from this post, I pulled out my strat for some play time - it has been a while. Here is what I think I figured out. First, I had the same “love it and have to have it” feeling I had the day I bought it, even down to the smell experience. I think what I discovered is that it feels so different from my prs and my lp. I realize it should, but maybe not as foreign as it does. Call it throwing away money possibly, but I think I am going to take it to the shop and have it professionally setup with lower action and different strings (9s) and see where that takes me. I know the string choice is a debate in and of itself but my prs came with 9s which was the first time I played them and I LOVE them. So I am thinking a more familiar setup may make this a player for me. After handling it again and thinking about my previous lp tribute, my fender is much nicer - I would note though as most all of you have said - it just doesn’t matter if it doesn’t get played.

    And then there’s this:

    I think it’s what they call ‘modern art’. I’m not sure where all the necks are though....

    Not sure what I was thinking when I realized I had 7 Strats the other day. Selling a couple now to get down to my 3 CVS and my MIM LPB. I've gained a lot of knowledge here and I'm happy and content with those. I think about selling one of the Vibes but love the 50s and 60s burst too much to go forward with that.

    Why, and what exactly, did you like about the tribute?. Can you mod the standard to make it sound like the tribute?.

    It took me over 20 years of trying before I finally accepted defeat and admitted to myself that I will never bond with a Gibson. I was a strange thing watching the last two get sold.

    What OP needs to do is sell that Strat and get a Vintera Tele.

    I had an Am Pro I in antique olive. Loved the color but hated the pickups. I understand that the pups in the Am Pro II are different. With the original V Mod pups I had to re EQ my amp just for that guitar. I’m not stopping in the middle of a set to rearrange knobs. That is what killed it for me. I sold it.

    Neck tatts. The answer here lies in the need to get more neck tattoos.

    You could go to the Less Paul forum and ask those guys what they think. Just a wild and crazy thought that spewed from the abyss of my mind. Not to be insulting but for some reason that sounded like a question Chuck Barris would ask on the Dating Game.

    I think just by the fact that you asked, you should not sell it.
    Every single time I've questioned myself whether I should sell or not sell and I chose sell...I've regretted it.

    What's that splattery thing second down from top right? Headstock looks Jackson/Charvel but hard to tell. Love me some splatter! :eek:
