Lol - cherries and Gibson being mentioned together for some reason made this pop in my mind:

That's what happened to one of brothers' trees. Too much fruit weighs a lot and it can only end one way..

I want to sell that one. Nice guitar but I don't play it much. Not a fan of those pickups. Took me awhile to figure that out. I want to put that money towards a 335 or a new AC system. Whichever comes first

I got one of those that's snapped off 4 or 5 times in hurricanes or storms..really soft limbs, but I don't have an issue with the fruit.

What id have a problem with it all those spikey balls the gum trees around here drop. They hurt when you step on them even if you have sandals on. But I solved that with this honkin' 3 speed (and reverse) self propelled lawn vacuum/chipper. Couple passes with that a year pretty much keeps them under control.

If you season and chip the wood it's real nice for smokin' fish or rabbit.

Most of the fish and rabbits around here have given up smoking

I thought ornamental cherry trees didn't make fruit. Have you tasted those cherries?

A neighbor had a sour cherry tree and let me pick all I wanted when I was a kid. Mom made a lot of pies over the years.

Edit: Apparently I was wrong about no fruit. I just read that the fruit of all cherry trees is edible, but some are too sour to be useful.
