Off as soon as I buy a new Strat. I keep them in a bag with the screws in case I ever sell it.
I know right? , If you carry it out to play in your living room or at a gig, everyone sees this ugly hole with springs and a soldered wire, it looks like part of the guitar is missing, makes the guitar look unfinished and cheap, takes away from the looks, I have a white pickguard on red finish, with a white trem cover to match, I think it looks great personally.
For very good reason!
This would have been much better as a poll
LOL... this thread has 185 posts.
On, always. I like things tidy. Having it off might trigger OCD.
On as it's the only place I allow stickers on my instruments.
Hardtail, or On, LOL.
On. I always block the trem in my strats. Never did get the hang of a tremolo bar. Been playing 33+ years. I can't play slide either. So it goes.
This is my favorite thread I took my backplate off. Nice seeing those springs breath some fresh air. Although I have the fender mustang micro amp and the color code card was on my backplate so I know what amp or effect I’m using. It was super helpful. I kinda miss it and am torn on the backplate Debate. Oh. Since it’s been off the sound difference has been like day and day. No difference lol. Love it
That can be a great thread. Block trem or don’t block trem. I think we could get some people angry about that !!!
Also I don’t use my whammy bar either. I have the trem floating because it’s supposed to be. Maybe I’ll block mine now
Next week lol
What's a backplate?
A spring reverb pedal/solution going through those springs?
