Picked up these two Gibson Les Pauls yesterday. A 2003 Standard and a 2015 Special DC.

Thanks. Only my second guitar with P90’s. Liking them.

The Special DC being kind of an inexpensive Gibson, the feel, tone, fit, finish, and wood grain on this guitar is spectacular.

I'd love to have one of those Les Paul double cuts.

And I really love those black and cream Les Pauls.

    Congratulations man.

Thanks, I sold a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul that lived in its case (too nice to use daily). These two guitars are replacements that I will actually play more often.

I can't imagine a guitar that's too nice to use daily, get grimy and naturally relic...but, that's just me. Personally, I would sell one of my boys for a CS R8. (I am saving shekels to avoid doing anything rash!) :)

Still...I love the black and cream Les Pauls

I'm still kicking myself for missing out on a TV yellow '15 DC. those are great players.

I’ve owned two R7’s and a R8 and loved all three guitars. If I was still playing in a band I probably would have kept one of each.

I’m still very content with my LP Traditional and this new-to-me Standard.

The Traditional has stock 57’s and this black Standard has been upgraded with PAF’s. Tones are not to far off from the Historics.

My First P90 guitar was actually another Special DC in TV Yellow. Loved the yellow. Sold the TV Yellow guitar for an amp purchase. Thankfully both guitars have had those awful Robot tuners replaced with Klusons.

Actually the pickups in the new Cherry DC seem less bright than my TV Yellow guitar, which is a good thing for my ears.

I’m sure that both guitars have the same pickups. Maybe my hearing has changed.

    Congratulations
    Congratulations

I’ve been gassing for a P90 Les Paul for awhile, to compliment my Standard. Love the DC!
