I love my Ultra
Ok, I'm just having fun, but isn't most everything "on the other side of the world" for an Aussie.
Ya'll are awful remote down there.
I’m from the UK originally but preferred walking around upside down.
Deep c is my fav.
I understand - it's probably not so much the depth as it is the D shape. Like @Slyy D-shaped necks are a no-go for me. A C-shape neck would be in-between a D and a V shape.
I picked up a Les Paul Tribute last month for the neck shape on the Tributes - Gibson calls it a "rounded" shape, it's a C-shape that starts out about the same depth as their Slim Taper neck but gets a little fuller at the 12 fret - but not as fat as their 50s neck shape.
The Pro II was definitely better than my Player. The rolled edges were nice and the nut, bridge and tuning machines were slightly better but I was disappointed with the overall quality control. The marks on the fretboard should have been picked up by QC. The store apologised but said another one they had also had some poor finishing where the rosewood was attached to the neck. I prefer the frets on the Player though and was able to roll the edges myself. I have also added better pickups.
I asked them to check the Ultra Luxe for issues before sending it to me so hopefully that’ll be better. I can return it for free if not.
I'm definitely a fan of the painted headstock I pre-ordered an ultra luxe in sunburst a couple months ago and am still waiting for it. Has anyone recieved theirs yet? If so, what do you think? Any issues?
Mine arrives next Thursday. Just found the first YouTube review/promo here:
Hope you enjoy yours.
Man I can't wait. That sounds exactly how I wanted it too. Not usually a fan of noiseless pickups but that sound as stratty as any
Same here. I reckon this guitar is gonna be awesome.
They ll outlast you thats for sure.If you ever fretted a guitar with them you would realise its a chore to even knip them to size compared to the nickel ones that are cut like butter. The difference isnt even remotely close.
My Ultra Luxe strat arrived yesterday. It's a great guitar.
I wasn't sure about the black headstock but it actually looks great, although that's clearly subjective. Everything about the guitar feels premium and the neck is superb. Love the pickups, too.
The dealer PLEKed the guitar for free and it plays like a dream. The stainless steel frets are smooth and make bends effortless.
When I’m good enough to make one. The guitar is great but I’m not.
My HSS Ultra is the closest thing I’ve been to the «perfect» strat.
We don't care throw two bends and a couple chords in there and call it a day.
I ordered one in January, the first day of preorder. The estimated shipping date then was March 9, 2021. Still waiting. Fender updated the estimate ship date to either May 5th or June 20th. Can't wait to get it. Never had a guitar with a Floyd Rose; I thought I'd give it a shot. despite all of the admonishments to stay very far away from them lol.
Yes: Ultra & Ultra Luxe. The Ultra Luxe models have stainless steel frets, if that counts for making it Ultra.
That is the exact same one I ordered. Holy **** does that ash look good!
