As sad as it is to post this, the tools of Walter Becker’s trade are being auctioned off. For anyone interested in owning a part of the Walter Becker/Steely Dan legacy, here’s the link:

    https://juliensauctions.com/flip-through-catalog?id=296

The catalog is about 600 pages, but there’s a lot of neat stuff.

My God, he had some cool guitars! I'd forgotten he'd passed though. :(

Lots of cool stuff, and the guestimate prices are pretty cheap.

I couldn’t fathom having a house big enough to store all of that!

I noticed that too. It’d be interesting to see what stuff goes for after the fact.

He was one of the guys whose work I grew up liking but didn't know his name.

My God he had a lot of guitars! If all these sell, the bottom will fall out of the used guitar market.

How much stuff can one man acquire?

Incredible collection! I see at at least 50 things I want to bid on and probably have zero chance of getting.

It’s a lot of stuff, but it’s the tools of the trade of a fantastic musician acquired over a period of time.

I’d love to bid on something, but all the additional fees and shipping is off-putting. I’ve never bid on an auction before (eBay doesn’t count).

Anybody know the backstory about all of those Becker branded guitars? Were those marketed/sold?

It'll be much easier now, to explain to my spouse that I do not, in fact, have too much gear.
