Wow...I need to take some time and dig through that old bin in the corner of my basement. There are so many cards in there, a lot of them still in packaging. I never thought it would be worth the effort, but who knows?!?!

A dear departed friend of mine who I played beer league hockey with for many years coached against a the then 12 year old Gretzky on his Brantford Ontario Pee Wee Rep team.
He told me that it got to the point that when the soon to be '' The Great One'' got the puck, my buddy's team pretty much just backed off and watched him do his stuff.
Amazing skill even at that age.

I find this kind of stuff (even with guitars) truly mind boggling. Seriously? $1.29 MILLION for a piece of cardboard with a hockey player's picture printed on it? It's almost like collecting stuff is a mental illness.

Amazing what people will pay for some things - they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them - I can think of a lot more uses for $1.29M
