$400, just announced a few hours ago, doesn't look like anyone has them in stock yet.

Looks interesting, and I like the point that they are price competitive with the little THR amps.
OTOH, the THR can be plugged into a cabinet, or line out into a board.

But it does deal with the problem of headphones sounding like you've shoved your head into the back of the amp.

Cool but way overpriced, lets be honest here.

Why does it have to be Waza craft making it? It’s just headphones with software loaded on them. They could’ve gone to China with production and brought it to market for 200-250 usd easily.

Way over priced IMO. If the goal is tobhave a good sounding and quiet practice rig you can accomplish the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

As mentioned in another thread, if/when it flops, it won't tarnish the well-established Katana name.

I don't think its going to flop. I find it hard to believe anyone thinks this is expensive. Sony, BOSE, Sennheiser all have noise cancelling headphones that cost 3x what this is going for.

But it's almost $200 more than a Katana 50, which is much more versatile, and has a headphone out.
The only thing this brings to the table is the spatial simulation, and compact size... but also requires using a phone/tablet to control it.

I have Bose ear buds that cost about as much. But I do have to wonder how much would I use it. Now if I could plug it into my DAW... then it opens up a lot of possibilities.

    That's the problem.
This is a GREAT practice tool, but it lacks any versatility.
There is no line in, no line out, and no speaker out.
The only way into it is through the app on your phone and the wireless input. The only way out of it is your head.

When I first watched the video, I was like WOAH DUDE! THAT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME! I'MAGONNA'GETONE!!! SHADDUPANDTAKEMYMONEY!!!!
But after thinking about it, I think I may end up buying a Katana-50.

That looks to be the same transmitter as the WL-20 or 50. It would be interesting if the transmitter would link up to the headphones AND the receiver of a WL-20. I could then plug the WL-20 into my FocusRite.

EDIT: I need to practice with headphones on just to see if they are a distraction.

It's likely the same transmitter... I can't see them reinventing the thing just for these when they already have one in production (and on the Katana-Air)
The trick is can you pair the transmitter to multiple receivers at the same time?
It pairs by plugging it into the headset.

I have a Katana 50. I have used the headphone out. Its a lot of cables without adding in pedals.
    Guitar to amp
    Computer to amp
    Headphones to amp

also...it sounds like ****...sounds like headphones going direct IMHO. I use Archetype Plini through my computer instead it sounds way better, because it has spatial/virtual room settings but I am sick of being tethered and I rarely have access to my computer anymore.

    Moved my Mom into the house this summer. She won't be moving again. I gave up my office/studio so she can have her own space. I can't afford to buy a bigger house, my amps are in storage except my Katana 50 which I can turn up to transistor radio volume. My current wireless noise cancelling headphones cost me 319$ {shrug}

Yeah I get you bro but Boss has like years of R and D and experience making these things. They have a tone reel of a bunch of stuff they have worked on and built on in Digital and Analog.

You dont just get that from thin air, I mean you can get it from scratch or from some other guys in China but I doubt it would be as good. Function would be there but sound not so much.

    Do agree they are overpriced.

Fender could quickly jump in for 120 bucks download their App.....use your own headphones....

TC electronics, Line 6 same thing etc etc.

I'm a luddite, the dark haired guy pictured in the add looks a lot like Kasabian's guitarist but maybe just a coincidence... speaking of Kasabian and headphones that sounds like a good idea right now
