I was fortunate to have a nearby art cinema where weird things were as common as Disney films. But some of them were just *too* weird.

Just watched "The History of Future Folk" the other night. Very weird, but actually pretty entertaining. Probably a good percentage of people here would enjoy it.

Friend of mine edited Liquid Sky. She was kind of creeped out by the director and the story, but it was her first feature editing job, so she stuck it out.

Tell her that her efforts were not in vain, at least one person saw it and sat all the way through.

Oh good god, not the unmentionable Serbian Film!:eek: That was definitely the most horrifying subject matter I've ever seen. That director is one sick puppy. It was right around the time that was out and a French film called Martyrs that I just said to myself yup, that's it. I never want to say anything remotely close to that ever again.

    Satyricon.

Yes, I, and a lovely young lady named Elaine, actually sat through Federico Fellini's Satyricon. Well, we reclined through it. This was during our Bohemian period, Elaine and I.

We lived, illegally, in a warehouse loft, the top floor of a warehouse in what would become the trendy neighborhood of hipsterville, but at the time was a bona fide warehouse district. Even had a train track running down the middle of the street.

Half way through this masterpiece of avant-garde Italian cinematic delight we both entertained the idea of an Olympic quality dive out the window

My old band had a kind of spacey folk song with a green screen video of us floating around in space. I was pleasantly surprised to get a comment on YouTube from the Future Folk channel, of course saying simply, "Hondo!"

Amazing weird bad movie. Famous cult classic.Used and abused by the evil manager and his goons. Well worth wasting 90 minutes on.

    Film degree here....

Anything by Dario Argento is going to be odd, with lots of peculiar layers.

    then there are...

    Vamyros Lesbos - fantastic soundtrack.

Man bites Dog - the DARKEST of dark comedies - friends of mine walked out of my place when i hosted movie night.

Bad Boy Bubby - pretty unusual movie ( and i know one of the actresses in it - the Salvos girl - and she's pretty far out in reality)

Zardoz and Brazil - not so much weird but Kitsch, see also cry-baby.

Todd Browning's Freaks is a pretty wild ride , given there's no FX in it. Also namechecked in a Bowie tune.

La Grande Bouffe , 70s French oddity.

Recently , The Lobster had a most unusual premise, and done really well
