I have gone all Tele and Gretsch, and one LP.

After many years, I have finally decided that the Strat just doesn't fit me as well as the Tele.

I never used the whammy bar anyway. ;)

I'm still gonna hang out on ST though. Y'all won't be rid of me just yet. :sneaky:

There are many other forum members who don't own a Strat, so I'd be sorry if you didn't feel you'd still be welcome. :( Although I find it hard to imagine not having a Strat at all, I get a lot of use from other guitars. One of them doesn't even have a pickup. :D

Maybe someday, who knows. I used to love LP's, then went Strat, and owned no LP's. Now I have an LP again, and no Strats.

You never know which way the wind might blow.

My Strat goes up and down the totem pole. Sometimes I love it and sometimes it sounds almost anemic. It doesn't hurt me to keep it though and I'd probably feel funny without one

I went that route for about 6 months. I had fallen in love with the Gibson scale on my Melody Maker and my Agile, so I sold my Strat and my Tele to buy a "real" Les Paul. I soon found I missed playing a Strat, though, so I picked up a cheap Harmony H80T. That was the first guitar I ever took apart and the first one I ever set up myself.

And ... now I'm back to three Strats and two Teles.

It's not that it hurt me to keep my Strats, just that over the last year, I hardly played them. So I sold them to raise money for my other hobby.

I have rekindled my les Paul love recently.
I have been playing it non stop.
I did a string change on my strat last night, and I actually looked at it and thought....... why do I love this thing?
It makes me work so hard for the notes, it never cuts me any slack !

But then i played it for a few minutes and realized how much i love the tones from it.
I couldn't sell it (barring some financial crisis).

This forum is called Strat-Talk. Without a Strat, I'm not sure you'd be allowed to talk here. ;) (kidding, of course)
