Its the pc culture...some people cant even handle to read stuff that oppose or challenge their viewpoints.I personally laugh with posts i find dumb or ignorant but apparently some are actually traumatised and prefer to act like those things dont even exist....:D:D:D

You and I may be those people, who don't agree, but the traumatized folks need to chill, or go over a cliff. Lithium might help.

If some fool online is pissing me off, I take that as a wake-up call to reevaluate my priorities and outlook. Me getting pissed off is not about the idiots, its about me letting idiots shake me up... my problem, not theirs. Sweeping stuff under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist doesn't work for me.

Some people just love to argue. It's mainly newer folk, they obviously can't stand anyone expressing an opinion. If you like, prefer, a certain thing, they will argue it's WRONG, etc ad nauseam. The expression of opinions doesn't bother me, I like the exchange of ideas. There are some guitarists that I don't care for; but if someone makes a good effort for them, I'm all ears.

I find it amazing that complete strangers can be so internet bossy...

Well for me, I do it so I don't accidentally go and comment on their thread and forget how they were rude etc or whatever......I think I probably have more people on ignore than anyone else on this site. By last count, I'm over 20.....

I never broke it down into categories but those are the general criteria.

It's a temporary In Memoriam thing. A member lost his long time friend and partner recently. It's in honor of him.

Wouldn't it be better to just forget the rude comment they made?
Maybe they had a bad day, said something out of line, shouldn't you naturally move on instead of installing a reminder of their transgression?
    Anyway, just a thought.

I’ve never put anyone on ignore but I can’t really criticize anyone for how they want to shape their online experience any more than I can criticize someone for preferring 3TSB guitars. It’s their choice and as it has no impact on my life, they can ignore the entire forum if they wish.

I’ve yet to put a single person on ignore in five years. Maybe I’m being too nice.;)

When reading a thread, I don't always notice who actually made the post when I first read it. I use blocking sparingly and usually choose to ignore the post, but blocking allows me to not see content from people I not longer want to see b/c they've earned that designation - and not just when they post a new thread, but respond to one I'm participating in. I also don't want to have to keep track of who to ignore. They're not worth the memory cells. The block list takes care of that for me.

Life it too short. I need to prioritize.
