    Why it’s this I don’t know, but I can only imagine what his body of work would be if he was a jazz musician. It appears he could have been. Probably his first or second musical language.

    When this question comes up, I always point to this song. There may have been better technical solos and certainly more melodic solos. For me, this song and the solos capture that early VH essence, energy and spirit like no other. As much as Eruption was his coming out solo, this song equally played that role.

    Good call! That is a under appreciated solo for sure. Not the flashiest but so perfect for that song.

    Way too many but for me Fair Warning was EVH at his best, it was the EVH album

    I think that album was the fatal blow to Disco and it was a breath of fresh air, watching it bleed to death, and live musicians taking over the clubs at that time. For that very reason, I'm going to choose the one everyone else is ignoring. Eruption. My reaction when I first heard it, was WTF? Many years ago, now.

    Well it was the solo the shifted the planets rotation and everyone who heard it said WTF and had many guitar players stunned and dumbfounded in disbelief as to what they had just heard !
