I've had a glass slide for a while and since I now have to electrics I though I'd learn. What are some good blues an classic rock songs to learn in standard or another tuning?

Check out Elvin Bishop. I just saw him play at the Portland Blues Fest, with special guest James Cotton. Those old guys still got it, the man can freakin play...

People generally forget that Ritchie Blackmore is one heck of a slide player. Most people that play slide sound generally the same to me. Ritchie has as unique of a slide voice as his regular playing voice. Here are two of my favorite slide leads by him.

This is John Lee Hooker w/Freddie Roulette on lap steel from "Lights Out: San Francisco, 'Voco' Presents the Soul of the Bay Area, 1972" on Blue Thumb records.

Not available on CD as far as I know, but I think you'll like it.

Should I wear the slide on my third finger or pinkie? It is really loose on my pinkie but really tight on my third finger.
