    Clearly they are crop circles.

A premium set of strings should always & only be gently hand wound. I only play hand wound strings, because you can tell the difference.

Not to get into a classist argument, but the “regular Polish” work just as well as some of the more “highfalutin Polish.”

Then again, you might also have some better success with a finer Finnish.

Great thread, I need some humor now and then. I think the circles would make it easier to play "rounds"

It will work, but your single coil pickups will get a hum from that mechanical horse. You might want to replace with humbuckers or some other dual coil / noise eliminating pickups.

The G string key circle is much lighter than the rest and is going to severely screw up tuning, you must spend quality time running a power tuner on that key in both directions to insure screwability and key harmony.

I don't know how you can live with this, return it or burn it immediately, seek emotional damages in your lawsuit and when you win buy us all a beer.

Absolutely. Tone will be adversely affected due to those marks.

Sanding and refinishing those areas will even make it worst.

You may also discover that some songs you used to play on that guitar can no longer be performed.

I believe that happened to Mick Jagger once.and I was told that is why you seldom ever see him with a guitar during a performance.

Where else would semi-tones come from?

Definitely looks like string winder thingies, won't affect tone one bit. Could be sanded off.
