What is black Friday? It seems to have suddenly appeared and taken over completely in the last few years. The black Friday sales here last a month.

Makes no sense over here though, as we don't have a thanksgiving day, it's just another stupid import.

I never bought anything on Black Friday. No matter how many BF’s there are in a month.
    Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Technically speaking, 'Black Friday' is the day after Thanksgiving, when retailers traditionally have mega sales
and people go crazy trampling each other to be the first to the shelves. It is the unofficial start to the Xmas
shopping season, and that tends to be the period where stores make a very large part of their annual revenue,
moving their books from in the red to black.
The Friday after Thanksgiving is often the biggest day for making money in retail here in the US, so...
we gift the rest of the world 'Black Friday'.
And now you also know why the sales last for about a month.

LOL... i'm sure that there is a secret &/or unoffical English Thanksgiving day on which they celebrate
having exported various undesirables to either the American colonies or Australia.
    :p

Anticipating Cyber Green Monday where prices will be further reduced on whatever didn't sell enough on Black Friday. I'm fully and completely out of the buying mode anyway.

Sorry for your loss. This post hit me like a ton of bricks this morning, wasn’t expecting it, as I get ready to see my folks for the holiday. As I watch them get older it’s post like these that make me thankful their still here, but sad as I think of how time always wins.

I am certain I will scour the internet for deeply-discounted gear that on a rare occasion may make me sound better;). I also MUST finish my final drawing project as it is due Monday:eek:.
