Ok, this thread is a staple in guitar forums. It’s been discussed all around, over and over, and there are always lots of jokes in replies but it’s fun. I think in about 90% of the gigs I’ve played I’ve worn blue jeans, brown boots and a plain black or white T-shirt. The only stuff I put on is a silver wristband in my picking hand, a chain attached to my wallet and a burgundy colored flying bandana in my rear pocket it’s good to have one when you sweat too much or spill booze). If the venue is more formal, I put a black button up shirt, and it it’s less, I wear Converse Chucks (been using them since the early 80s IIRC, love them). Oh and I don’t ride bikes, but I often play gigs in biker clubhouses and motorcycle related meetings. Then instead of a leather vest, I put a black suit vest over the white tee.
My last gig that wasn't at church (which I wear jeans and a T-shirt at) was this Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Havent been in a band in a few years, but just regular clothes mostly. One show was on halloween and I was dressed like a zombie soldier and my drummer dressed like a wrestler. Bassist chickened out and wore regular clothes. Our first show I wore awkwardly tight clothes though. Ha
T-shirt, sport coat, grey slacks (dickeys), and chucks. Sometimes I wear a bowlers hat or fedora. Sometimes I get fancy...
I hope the floss isn't high tensile. You might do yourself an injury if you ever snagged it on an immobile object while in motion. Floss should break, not cut..........................
I wear a button up shirt and a sportcoat. I to at least create the illusion that I put some effort into showing up to the gig. I played in a band for a long time with an ooooold school.blues dude (like he was in his 80s when I started playing with him)and his mantra was "you're not one of them (pointing at the crowd), you're up here on the stage, so you better dress like it." I doubt I'll ever be as dapper as him (he matched his damn socks to his tie, and his tie to his hatband), but I try.
depends on the gig. Last couple i wore an opshop black suit, red converse, and a red t shirt, before that i wore a skin tight hello kitty T shirt, have done red velvet jacket, and on one occasion a pair of skin tight underpants and a mexican wrestler's mask.... the front man in my band just grabs whatever is in the Floordrobe, as he doesn't think it's important, which i disagree with enormously. If you're on stage, you're the entertainment, and despite his wishes that everyone sit and listen enraptured to his songs, i think a show is about fun. There you go .
