Copper, copper and copper. Three different materials.

Copper on mylar. Looks too unnatural to me. Goes on easy but it is also not durable. The copper itself is ultra thin so it does not take much to ruin the finish as you can see middle bottom.

So with that out of the running I have a copper foil.

It is not self adhesive so I will need to put on some adhesive. 3M 77 comes to mind. or 3M photo mount. The third alternative is copper tape. I have found it in 4 inch width. I did try some 2 inch which is the same stuff I used for shielding the body cavity on my Termite Tele. But tape will not be a smooth as the other two products.

You should put a link where each item came from.

That would make it easier for those who want to follow in your footsteps

    I love the copper.

Did you get the stuff normally used for roofing?

I thought of the perfect name for it.

    Dirty Penny.

Yes, that’s what you get for $70. We didn’t get the opportunity to talk you out of it.

Here's one I made 5 or 6 years ago. The fret ends are horrible, but other than that, it's pretty good.

Though I did not think of that, I believe it is quite a bit thicker than the foil shown above. And good idea about links. I will need to go back and start gathering them.

Nicely done. I have not taken measurements yet for comparison. I can tell you that the body is not as rounded as my tele template nor Telecaster FMT. Funny thing, I do not have a production classic Telecaster in my collection.

This is amazing. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

The tarnished pick-guard is one of the coolest pick-guards I’ve ever seen.

Each build I get better at it. I learned wood working in the 8th grade when they used to teach the trades in school. On the other hand I am envious your playing skills.

Oh, btw - how is the house coming?

I hope it is not one of those over priced bids because everybody is trying to rebuild in your town in the middle of a national building boom.

I can't even get a freakin' framer here in VA.
