I’ve recently acquired 2 pedals made by Hermida Audio/Lovepedal. The EPH-3 Delay and the Reverb-3. I’ve always known Hermida Audio pedals are killer from having tried a ZenDrive years and years ago, but what I never realized about these particular effects is, while the obviously “effect” your signal, they really only add to it, never overpowering. Sits just “underneath” when I set them just right if that makes sense.

    Anyway….I’m diggin’ them!

The real Hermida Zen drives destroy the lovepedal version.

I’ve owned a real Hermida purchased from the man himself, and I had a Lovepedal-made version. They both sounded pretty much the same.

How are Hermida Audio & Lovepedal related?
I was under the impression these are distinct manufacturers.

EDIT: I found the answer- recent (?) collaboration...

    from the Hermida Audio site...
    June 2nd: Great News!
We have teamed up with Sean Michael, designer and owner of www.Lovepedal.com. We’re very excited with this new venture. This new arrangement will give us the opportunity to focus on existing and new designs.

Not sure how but they do sound different. I’ve owned 3 original pre lovepedal Zen Drives and 5 post lovepedal zens. The pre sound better, smoother and no fizzy artifact when the note dies out like on every single lovepedal version I’ve ever played.

It’s the same way with the handwired Fender Princeton and deluxe, to my ears there is a difference in tones.
