I’m a big Clint Eastwood fan. I mean I really love those three Spaghetti westerns Fistful of Dollars, Good Bad and the Ugly, For aFew dollars more, etc. Dirty Harry, I mean it’s just historic good ol Clint.

And then tonight  .... My wife has the movie Paint your Wagon on. I’d never seen that one before. Here comes Clint walking through a field and there’s some song happening that sounds so out of place. My wife goes “Clint’s singing!” Of course I said “No @#*$ way”!!! She goes “no he’s really singing”. You couldn’t see his lips yet so again my first thought was that’s freaking impossible, Clint would never sing that’s WAY too unClint like. I was ready to bet on that. Then he gets closer and yes he really is singing. I mean all my vision of badass guy just went POOF.

There’s just some things in this world that should never be and that’s one of them :(. Then came Lee Marvin singing. I’m going to go out now and bury my head in the lawn.

Clint sings a tune when the credits roll at the end of Gran Torino also. Its rough but somehow grizzled old Clint fits perfectly. Love that movie.

Lee and my Dad were close friends. They were drinking buddies.

There was place they'd go called the Raft. It was near PCH and Topanga Canyon.

It was around the time of Paint Your Wagon. Lee had a single pressed of Wandering Star and paid the bar to put it on the juke box.

So whenever Lee and my Dad would go in there, Lee would dump a ton of quarters in there and play his tune. Over and over again. He'd also hand the bartender a 100 dollar bill.

Eventually someone would unplug the jukebox to reset it. Lee would wait for them to do this.

Usually a fight would ensue. The sheriff would show up and drive Lee and my Dad to the Station, which was right next to the Pokey, another Malibu bar they hung out at.
My step mom and Michelle Triola would walk across the street and walk them home.

He'd do this every Saturday that he wasn't on location. He was a hoot. And a real, genuine tough guy with a heart of gold.

I spent most of tonight listening to various Jimi concert stuff and some of the Ross tapes. The upcoming Rainbow Bridge (maui tapes) release and anniversary of his death on the 18th got me focused. Decided to take a break and popped in here..

Like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth I tell ya.. That is a heinous atrocity to commit to smoke on the water. LOL

Stallone has said interviews that Rocky V isn't "canon"...admitting that it didn't belong in the series.

I look at that Eastwood flick similarly. That's not Eastwood...it didn't really happen. ;)

If you just found out about this, your head must have been buried in the lawn (or somewhere else) for the last 50 years.
