When I peruse ebay and reverb the used prices seem unreal.
Nashville Craigslist has 7 of them with asking prices in the $450-1000 range.
Very much depending on year. Should be at least.
Have you been in a coma for the past year? Prices on ALL used guitars have gone through the roof!
Check GC/MF online (they share inventory). The used prices there have remained normal. Obvs you risk buying a guitar you haven't played yet, but it's returnable at least.
Little known, apparently, is Sweetwater's used market. It's easier to find from a proper PC (rather than a phone). I've never bought there, but I know that it's actually independent of Sweetwater; for some reason they just let people post and sell their gear through their site.
They seem to stay around $350-$500 around here. The latter usually being a player or the like and the former usually being a standard.
My bad! I didn't read that correctly and thought you were asking about a MIM Stratocaster. MIM Telecasters do seem to bring a little more. $500 ish.
Averaging $450 & up around here
Yeah before you do that read all the lamentation threads about GC/MF (which are the same thing)
Nice comment. Havent shopped in a while.
As I said, "obvs".
The risk is no greater than with Reverb, though, and in fact is far less given the ease of returning an item that fails to please.
Ive purchased used from gc. Its definitely a mixed bag.
All I want is a tele with a rosewood neck for 300 bux. I guess Ill wait to see if the prices go down. If not then Ill stick with my CV 50s tele.
Do you absolutely want a fender ?
Many Tele types brand new For Less that the retarded prices they are asking for used MiM,
Michael Kelly Guitars
Yeah - if you want RW for ~ $300 you're going to need to set your pointer at Squier. I haven't seen an MIM tele here (SF Bay Area) for $300 since well before last year. Over the past year, it appears that the used market in much of the US has caught up with us...
That's pretty rigid.
Ever try the ASAT? or Vintage (brand) Tele models?
How about this for $170 new?
Aside from my CV Id dont think Id buy a Squier for more than 150 bux. Maybe Im living in the past IDK. I got my son a great mim strat for 350 two years ago.
I got a decent Epi Les Paul custom for 330 last year. A squier tele, unless its a cv is not worth it to me for that kind of money.
Ive bought like 5 SX teles from Rondo for 100 bux. Id happily buy another but they dont have any.
Id play that.
I recently sold a well-used MIM Tele for $450, and prices tend to be pretty low around here.
At least around here, used MIM Teles run $50 more than their Strat counterparts. Even two years ago, you would have been looking at 4 bills for a Tele.
It's my experience that Teles are a little more expensive than Strats. $50 more than a Strat seems right. A year ago a MIM Strat for $350 and a MIM Tele for $400 would have been pretty good deals. Now it's more like $400 & 450 for the cheapest one listed--and that hasn't got rosewood. Rosewood teles are a little harder to find.
I don't see a lot of Squier Teles cheap either. I see a rosewood parts-tele with crappy trapezoid tuners (Squier Affinity neck, probably) and issues--and they're asking 275. Yikes.
I think you're going to need to up your budget to $500+ for MIM, and maybe $300 for a CV. That Harley Benton just keeps looking better.
