Color really is of secondary concern. If it plays great, sounds great, that is what is most important to me. I have yet to get a pink guitar, but I want one. I had a pink, well very pinkish burgundy mist Suhr once long ago, and took it to a bar jam. There were a few macho men that were making fun of it. That changed after my set was done. It;s cool that it puts people off sometimes.

Color is irrelevant as long as it's blue.

I’m not going to buy a guitar if I don’t like the color.

All kidding aside, when I had my strat built, I insisted on a clear finish. I was never colour fancy, but just wanted to look at the wood whenever I picked it up. Had a blue Roland G505 strat for the GR707 synth, and was glad to get rid of it. I guess my dad gave me an appreciation for uncluttered wood. I could see, then.

Color is important to me, I feel like everything else on a strat can be made to play incredibly with a good setup. None of them play great out of the box so color wins unless there’s a deeper issue that can’t be fixed, but I’ve never encountered that

Color can be a factor to me not buying a guitar. I do not like black acoustics or 3TSB so I wouldn’t even probably pick one of those colors up to try in the first place.

Color is a bit more important to me as it is what gets my attention before I get to play a guitar.

Colour (color for the Americans here) is of absolutely no importance to me unless it's a television screen

No need for hypotheticals for me. I have bought both, put the preferred neck on the preferred body and sold off the rest.

Been many times I've settled for "not my first choice" in color with guitars and vehicles because everything else spoke to me.

    But I have my limits.

No Pelham Blue Les Pauls, no matter how nice it is.
Funny, because the color looks good on Fenders.

And no green or greenburst on Les Pauls.
Again, funny, because it looks great on PRS and flame-top Telecasters.

Lake Placid is pretty glassy smooth when the wind is calm.

Color makes me take it off the wall.

How it plays makes me buy it.

Colour is very important to me. But I'm fortunate in that my two Strats are in my two favourite colours, they both play and sound how I want them to, so I've already got what I need.

In other news: in general if I own a guitar just for tooling around at home or for home recording then the colour is thoroughly irrelevant to me, but if I plan to play it on stage then I wouldn't buy it if I didn't like the colour.

Colour is the first thing I notice.

Obviously it has to be a player but colour is right up near the top of the list.

As a graphic designer color and overall look are typically important to me. For example, all of my straps were specifically purchased to match or compliment each of my guitars haha. I'm a nerd, I know, but it matters to me. But that being said, I've never kept a guitar only because of the color. If it doesn't play well or feel right in my hands it's a dealbreaker.

Other than there are certain colors I just don't like I'm flexible. But I'd also admit that most of my gear is in more "old school" finishes.
