The guy can play.
Since Paperback Rocker mentioned Ryan Adams, I wanted to post my personal favorite song of his. It's another song which is a great example of the kind of sadness I love. This song has gotten me through some tough times...
Fun Fact: Johnny Depp plays the guitar solo on the recording.
Songs with bagpipes. Gets me every time.
And this one
For me personally, that song doesn't make me feel any sadness but it I liked it!
I really, really enjoyed this one. Very nice. Thank you.
This one is nice. I like it. Very melancholic. Thanks!
actually, one of the saddest songs i know is one i wrote a long time ago called headed for the hills.
Research Nick Drake’s story to up the sadness factor.
As a dad, this one gets me.
If you ever want to feel sad, read the biography of this band, and listen to this song.
This is the saddest song/performance given the context I’ve ever heard hands down. Specifically the line “I gotta go, it’s been a pleasure doing business with you.” Tragically Hip’s last show and I think the second last song knowing Gord Downie the lead singer had terminal brain cancer. The whole concert was broadcast live up here on the CBC.
why me Lord: Kristofferson
Old and wise: Alan Parsons project
But two describe the lonely days, hours N weeks on the road, racing...
Not all that glamorous...
Just for the schmuckley schmaltziness...
My country side always wins out, but George Jones with "He stopped Loving Her Today" has to be on this list! (No, I don't know how to link the song).
Nice. I always enjoy listening to an original song!
I read up a little about Gord Downie. Those circumstances definitely made that show much sadder. Always sad to hear about someone who falls to cancer...
hey thanks man....that was 20 somethin years ago.
