I think you can be pretty sure you have a CST 30 but with a maple board. Although not listed in the catalogue Fuzzfaced does say on that very page that not every guitar that came off the line matched catalogue specs and obviously they were producing maple board necks alongside for other body colours.
Yours however does have a characteristic combination of parts that show it to be produced in the CST 30 era.
It has ceramic pups. It does have a serial beginning with A on the neck plate. That neck plate does carry the big Fender 'F'. The body is basswood. The tuners are Gotoh.
Either it's a factory deviation from spec (to fill and despatch an order say when they had no dry black 3 bolt bodies or else it's just Fender using up parts at a crossover point in specs and supplies which don't marry up exactly and as such is just good business sense) which is perfectly possible from Fender Japan or.... it's had a neck change after at some point for another from the same era. My money would be on factory.
