For whatever you do - playing at home, writing songs, recording, playing out - what is your go-to acoustic guitar and why? If it's more than one, which do you use the most?

Martin CEO-7. It’s my only acoustic. I had a couple a few months ago, but they weren’t all-rounders. This one is. Once I got this one, I sold the others. It feels, plays, sounds right for everything I need it to.

I usually reach for my HD28 it's just a tad louder than my D18. They both sound great. I went on an acoustic journey and these were the two I kept.

I gave my last acoustic to my grandson when he went to university about 5 years ago. I never used it at home, too loud, annoyed the management...

This 1970s Artia is my only acoustic:

It's great for blues, especially slide, but pretty much useless for anything else!

I’ve got a Fender 12 string, a Takamine, a Gretsch Rancher jr., and a Fender Sonoran. I don’t play any of them. The Epiphone Emperor Swingster is my go to “acoustic”.

I did have a Martin years ago, not sure which one. I didn't like it so sold it, this was before I knew what a Martin was, how incredibly dumb can one be?

I now have a Freshman made in Glasgow which. I love.

I have to go to Sam Ash because I ain't got the money to afford it, Taylor 814ce Sassafrass. In the mean time it would be my Westbury 12 string or my Ibanez Talman for 6 strings. All depends on what I am working on and where I am in the house.

I have 3, a Rainsong Parlor, 74 Glen Campbell 12 string Ovation and an 84 6 string Legend.

The Rainsong is my go to as it stays in tune forever, built like a tank and is a lot fun to play.

The Ovations sadly are lot like me showing their ages with finish cracks but both sound great and are fun to play.

If you didn't like it, and you have something now that you love, it doesn't matter what name was on the headstock... Sounds like you weren't dumb at all...
