What kind of pickups are these ? (Gibson 335)

bought this guitar and in the ad it says original classic 57s which these definitely are not. Will but contacting the seller. But I am wondering what they are.

Looks like Seymour Duncan Antiquities. These are from their custom shop and it looks like the neck is wound by SD, bridge by MJ, so IMHO you got lucky

Very cool. I have a pair of old SD in my Les Paul that are sublime.

Can we see pics of the rest of the guitar?

This would be my guess, too. This is *so* much better than stock.

As a guitar that’s meant to be a player, I’d say you scored. If it’s a player. If you are collecting, I don’t know. Perhaps he thought that they were 57’s and they were in it when he got the guitar and he never checked under the hood?

Oh no I’m pumped. I played it with the dead strings that came with it and thought it sounded great, went to do the string change and setup and saw these (knowing the ad said classic 57s). I was just very curious what they were and didn’t like that the seller didn’t know (especially for a Reverb seller with a ton of positive feedback/business). Then put new strings on and obviously it sounded even better. The price on the overall guitar too was quite a deal. I’ll post a NGD thread soon and get some good pics of the whole guitar. Thanks

I thinl the SDs are head and shoulder above 57s. I agree it should be advertised correctly, but you are def the winner on this one. Looking forward to the NGD pics.

I think classic ‘57’s are great pickups.
