The vintage tone that everyone is after came from run-of-the-mill pickups made by Fender. There is no reason to pay big money for pickups. Unlike other types of consumer products, the electrical inductance that occurs in the magnetic field of a pickup is not enhanced by throwing dollars at it.

The Fender Original '57/'62 sound fantastic to me. Sometimes you can get a 3 pack on ebay for $93.

Are you always this angry? Or is it only with me? It kind of feels like every time you see my name you have to call me out on something.

That reads “looking for vintage-sounding pickups for my strat” to pretty much everyone else. Then his first post goes on to mention a strat with humbuckers and his previous humbucker pickups.

PV '65s are a good start.

After you've spent a grand or so, you will know what you like.

Don't get us started on bridge pups, lol

I lov emy PRS Silver sky with JM635 pickups.
Honestly, they sound near identical as the Fender 57/62's.

I'd get the 57/62's or some Yosemites. Was SHOCKED with the Yosemites. Amazing...total purity...last night sounded JUST like SRV but more claer.
Possibly my favorite pickup right now for a Fender.

Really nice burst on that guitar. I like the color combo with the black pickguard.
