That's what I called mine. LolA friend of mine loved telling the girls he drove a 'vette.
They whut?My parent bought me a 1966 Pontiac GTO at the end of my sophomore year in college. They had me go outside to get a picture with a new chess set they bought for me, and then mentioned that I was standing in front of my new car. You could have knocked me over with a feather. With 389 cu. in. engine and a 4-barrel carburetor, it had great pickup when needed (and even when it wasn't needed).
I haven't digitized my old photos yet, so here are some pics of an identical car:

Yes, they were!! I had two. When I bought the 1980 in 1993, I really wanted a 1981. I liked the body style a lot more than the previous model year. I just couldn't find one in decent shape around here until I came across the '80. I bought it for $450 and it needed a transmission. Had everything but reverse gear when I drove it home. A junk yard owner in my birth town owed my dad a favor so he sold me a 350 turbo for $85 and I took it home and did the swap.Man , I had a string of cutlasses, great cars.
My first HO car was the Snake soon followed by the Mongoose.
