I bought an old Thomas organ company Cry Baby in 1979. I wired an ac adapter from a radio to because it sucked through batteries.

some kind of Loco Box overdrive pedal that was painted construction orange, because that was the only color of spray paint we had in shop class...

I hardly remember the pedal. but when I search for them now.. they seem to be worth a kidney. funny because I just called it "neon newman" and booted it around. I have NO idea where it ended up.

My 1st pedals were MXR Dynacomp script and the orange Phase 90, both in 1976.
I presently have a Hotone Xtomp pedal that has like 33 od/distortions from TS808, DirectDrive,Zendrive etc and the easiest to use and one of the best is a Yellow Drive 2knob. go figure

This - kinda wish I still had it but I think my mom threw it out when I left home for college in the early 80s. I don’t think she liked the “balls” setting.

Big Muff then a Dunlop cry baby. There wasnt a whole lot of choices at a affordable price back in 68. if you wanted reverb it was a spring tank and If you wanted a chorus modulation type effect you spent big bucks on a Leslie or for delay it was a tape machine.

A toss up as I purchased a Boss Tuner, a Dunlop Cry Baby, a Joyo Compressor JF10, and a MXR Phase 95 all about the same time...followed a week later by a Danelectro Billionaire Pedalboard (5 mounted pedals/dealer demo).

Boss BF-2 back in 1981. My Peavey amp had a built in phaser and I had a DeArmond Weeper. That's all I needed to play Rush :p

I think my 2nd pedal was a Morely WVO, but my 3rd was a DOD Chorus. Next one after that was an Aria Compressor.
    I didn't buy a Flanger until the mid 60s.
