That ‘59 LP thing just strikes me as funny. Back then LPs sold so poorly (no rock & roll bands were using them and no young players) that a couple years later they quit making them for about 6 or 7 years.
Same here, but a '56. It would also be stuffed with $100 bills from someone trying to supress unwanted resonance.
For once in my life I'm pretty happy with guitars already own, but just because I could, I'd opt for a 1958 Gretsch White Penguin, just to see how it plays.
Just to play the Devil's advocate, in this scenario, couldn't someone grab some of your gear, and then run off with it? We could lose a beloved instrument.
