Saw this on eBay and was curious as to the RARE factor.

Firstly, it's a Strat. Undeniably the worlds most popular electric guitar that has been in production for the last 68 years, so nothing rare about that.

It's black. Probably one of the most consistently available colours since 1954, again nothing rare about that.

Maple neck. Apart from a few years where it was only available to order, it's another constant, so no rarity factor there.

I have (politely) emailed the seller to ask for more information on what makes it rare, but so far he has failed to offer any comment. 🤣

What am I missing here?

Maybe, the 'busys' are actually looking for this one - that'd make it a rarity.

It's the only one in the world that they are selling right now.

Ok off topic but I have an identical one from 2009 I think. My number 1 forever

Yep - just salesmanship for what I suspect was one of the most common color/fingerboard combinations for an American Series Strat.

I take it this is a rhetorical question and we just want to throw shade at the seller for his description.

How dare this seller spice up his listing and try to sell this overpriced piece of garbage.

Welcome to the used market online..
