What pickups are you buying and what guitar are you putting them in
Hot Golds loaded pickguard for my 89 Am Std should arrive sometime soon. Next will be a Dimarzio Norton and a PAF Joe for an Ibanez RG570. Probably will unwire the middle pickup.
I have my first electric guitar sitting in my closet with no pickups in it. I think about "restoring" it from time to time. It is a dual humbucker guitar, so I would need a couple of humbuckers.
Who knows, maybe someday I'll see if I can find a pair of used Seymour Duncans or something.
What kinda sound you looking for as far as humbucker is concerned?
Low to medium output, PAF type sound.
Installed James Tyler Supercharged Studebaker and JTS5250's in my Classic Player yesterday. Very very impressed.
Waiting on Vintage Tele set from Onamac Windery for my Am Std Telecaster and a set of Vintage 64's from Onamac for my Inca partscaster.
What's wrong with the middle pickup?
How about a rewind medium output pickup set lol.... they sound really good
That's a beautiful guitar! What kind of tones do you get from that?
I got the same onamac windery 64s for my Fernandes le-2g but it'll be months before i install them
Cheers, I like the Sonic Red too.
The singles are A5 vintage style pickups so these sound very much like slightly higher output 60 Strat pickups and the Humbucker is a low/medium wind and sounds very polite clean. Add a little and a lot od OD and this HB gets into very nice PAF rock territory!
So far Im very impressed mostly with the clarity but I'm sure they're going to get better after some more height adjustment to balance position 2 and 4 especially.
Nothing wrong with rewound pickups. I don't get hung up about that kind of thing. What matters is the sound.
I'm tossing up whether to switch out the N3 noiseless on my deluxe Thinline tele for something a bit less clinical sounding, The N3's are great but are a bit tame and hi fi sounding. I'd like a dirtier sound...
No you misunderstood me lmao I'm talking about the actual company called REWIND pickups lol.... that's a pickup company lmao.
I recently bought a new Squier CV 60's Tele Custom and I'm looking at buying a DiMarzio Area T neck and Chopper T for the bridge. They are currently in my cart but I haven't hit purchase just yet.
I had my time in pickup swapping.
stock pickups for me from now on. The differences in sound rarely justified the time and money spent, to me.
should have spent that time coming up with new riffs/songs, or learning another cover song.
but I guess life is full of wasted time.
These are my latest projects. Im putting slider 59 in the FSR fiesta red classic vibe on top. But i have no clue what im going to put in the vintage blonde classic vibe. I want some Ron Ellis 57s but it's been a week since i gave him my PayPal email for a invoice and he hasn't responded back i guess he's either busy or doesn't want my business lol. I'll just buy something else
OK, Sorry, I never heard of them. LOL
I might put some wire on this:
