I have no plans to buy pickups any time soon, but if it ever happens, I want another set of Rickenbacker Toasters. I sold the first set that I had in my Tele, and it's one of those things I have sellers remorse about.

I'm looking at picking up a Tex Mex set. Sounds a little clearer than the Specials to me in the comparison demos and they $70 a set.

Yeah dialing in the Fat 50s......hahhaha they sound as good too just different.

I have 4 strats. 2 upgraded, one with Custom Shop 50s and the other with Texas Specials.

I just havent played with the Fat50s for a it a but they sound amazing for gain after dialing in.

I had the same type of revelation. Once I figured out how everything works together (amp eq, pedal type and volume, etc.), all my guitars sounded better.
It saved me buying 5 or 6 pickups.

I've had a set of harmonic design v+ in my tele from day one, in 1999. For the first 4 or 5 years, I hated them. To muddy, no definition. Then i changed the pots and cap to 500k/500k with an 022 cap. It was transformed. It has been and will always be my one and only tele.

The regular custom is more super distortion like than the custom 5, which has scooped mids.

I was told a custom 5 is more like a way hotter '59.

What ibby did you drop them in?
Did you change any of the electronics? Do you like the original electronics?

I have an as73g withva set of tonerider rebel 90s.
I tried 36ths for a bit, but there is something a semi with HB sized p90s. They lasted about a week before the rebels went back in.

    What a great sound!

    SNATCH track? :D:D:D

    What're you think about, hmmmmm?

Lemme guess, you use that one for fuzz tones?

1981 Artist AS100. The factory electronics are fine. Big 500k pots. Don’t remember the tone cap values. I left them in and wired them 50’s style tone, so the tone stacks are on the output side of the volume pots, not the pickup side.

I absolutely love the tone I get from the Phat Cats. I wish I could have put them in ages ago.

Want to try the Yosemite’s out. It seems as if they’re the “new” Tex-Mex style of pickup. I’ll be getting a Strat and Tele set and putting them into a Nashville+Duo Sonic I have sitting about.

I've been using the Dimarzio Cruiser Neck and Cruiser Bridge in the neck and middle position respectively on one of my two 1#'s for more than six months now, I am pretty sure than I'll replace them with a couple of Fast Track 1's which is what I have on my other guitar.

So, my next pup purchase will probably be two Dimarzio Fast Track 1's. This or nothing and I'll just leave everything as it is.

A DiMarzio PAF Joe for the neck and an DiMarzio Norton for the bridge of my RG570. It's a Jewel Blue one and I'm still deciding what color do I want them in. Or stick to black. We'll see..
