Though it really didn't look like I was going to be able to get anything done today because it was way too cold this morning, the sun finally emerged and got me into painting temperature. Ss long as I am in the sun I'm golden. (All puns intended)

It's actually the one on the left. He liked the idea of it being darker gold. I think it will really pop with the aged white (almost cream) pickguard and cream plastics. I'm really hoping to get some more good weather in the next couple weeks so I can clear it and really get it popping.

You can't judge a can by it's cap color I guess.

So a quick check of the colors together makes me wish I had unlimited space to keep stuff. I'm not really a gold guy but I want one of these now.

That's gorgeous! Currently my favorite strat color is Aztec gold, and you're doing it justice here! Save for the inlay you have planned, this looks something like one of my latest partscasters:

Nice! I love that maple neck. All of the gold guitars I've seen have malpe but this one will have a rosewood fretboard because I really don't want to separate the original neck from the body. Plus it has been refretted with jumbo frets and plays like a dream.

Yet ANOTHER stunning build, Brother! I can see this becoming a 'thing' for you in retirement...or before...:sneaky:. Already has! Thanks for the heads up bro! I wasn't able to log on for several days so, of course, I had to buy an amp... LOL!

Excellent job- I'll be following this...

That sounds great, rosewood will pair very nicely with what you've got going.

So I got all of the parts in to wire this thing up. A new Oak-Grigsby 5 way switch, 3 A250K CTS pots, Orange Drop cap and a set of BoP'ups A5/A2 overwound pups with a steel plate on the bridge from @Bodean. Thanks again Jeff. After getting home from the men's conference at church I took the time to wire it up.

I finally got the last piece in.

This is the guitar that the strap @Bodean is making with the baseball is for. Since the kid is a baseball player and has worn the number 5 since his first season. Dad wanted to put his jersey number on the guitar somehow.
This time I contacted the guy that I get the neck plates from and asked him to use the original one from the guitar so that the serial number would stay in tact...I really don't know why but it just seemed right this time.

You always manage to think of these little details. That is what sets your builds apart.

What's funny is that I was in need of a good painting stick. I couldn't find anything that I though was "professional" enough but I found this 5 foot scrap section of tubafor that I forgot I had laying in the back of my truck from building my fence so I cut it out in a pinch. I've now used in on about 6 different guitars now. LOL I figure that if it ain't broke...;)
