So I ordered a Champ kit from mojotone....

Day 2... of waiting I wonder how long b4 my amp ships
Day 6... Mojotone is probably still behind from all the chaos last year.
Day13... I really hope my amp ships soon

Day18... Hmmm I wonder if it shipped yet hopefully soon I
Day 20... Lets see I have bought better soldering iron, good kester solder , rosin paste flux, cleaned work area in basement.
Day 23... Hmm still hasn't shipped. I will order a build a compressor pedal kit from Amazon then I will have something to do. Hit purchase button and it tells me delivery will be August 15 ???? Omg:eek:
Today....day 27...hmm maybe I will head to a pawn shop by a cheap amp and have my sister run over it with her Camry and then I will try fix it :whistling:

It’s the back lash from the shut down still effecting the availability of parts!

Where I work we where desperate to get a new item of audio gear out to market, and it took 3 people on the web and phone for near 3 days to track down 500 of this one cap that we needed !

maybe you should get on the horn with them and ask them to ship the kit as is as long as it’s not the chassis or tag board they don’t have!

That’s a bummer, but the wait will increase the excitement. Or something like that!!

Actually, Mojotone is known for taking a long time to ship. This has very little to do with current supply issues. I mean, I’m sure it doesn’t help any, but really, even before the plague started, their site warned that a kit might take 6-8 weeks to ship. Now, I think it warns 8-12 weeks.

I bought a set of Mojotone Johnny Winter Firebird pickups from them about two years ago, and they took about two months to get them to me. (They are killer pickups, by the way. Totally worth the wait.) I also got the distinct impression that they really don’t like phone calls or emails asking for progress reports.

So, really, this is just how they roll.

I’m considering trying their 5e3 build over the winter. Which means I’ll probably order it around Labor Day with the hope of getting everything around Christmas.

But I hear ya on the wait brother. I've had an acoustic on back order since April with zero signs that it will ship anytime soon. I've thought about canceling it but it was sold on one of those 0% interest deals so I might as well just wait it out. It's not like I actually need another damn guitar.....LOL.

What struck me watching that video is how young all of those guys looked especially Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench in addition to Petty. Then I paid heed to the fact that it was shot in 1981, 30 years ago. I guess I looked a lot younger then too. :(

Good customer service = staying in touch with you, and letting you know how long it will be before the amp ships.

If you aren't being kept informed, then I would be plenty pissed.

    :(

We entertained some friends in Canaan Valley last night and the wife has been waiting for a Forerunner she'd bought over a month ago. It's supposedly on a ship in the middle of the ocean. And she got way over what the going for price on her trade in vehicle. Her husband, who is the owner of some sort of commercial box company, said it's due to the scarcity of the "chips" that go into the vehicles.

On a lighter note, an envelope I'd sent to Pennsylvania took 70 days to arrive. Pennsylvania is a state next to this one.

    Patience grasshopper.

    Or something...

Did you order a cabinet? A friend ordered a full kit including cabinetry a few months ago. The wood bits were the holdup.

They make the cabinets, give them a call and find out when the next batch of 5F1 cabs will be produced...
Heyboer is their transformer source, or use to be. If they are sourcing their iron/small parts from foriegn countries, that could be an issue as well. In all honesty, they should have some sort of delay notification on their website.

DAY 40 Still no sign of my amp...so I headed down into my basement for a small project. It didn't turn out as good as I thought it would but it works and saves me a ton of room in my room. 20210806_192119.jpg 20210806_191321.jpg
