I was able to find it by searching the title on Soundcloud.

Nice tune - I'd agree tending more towards spy guitar than surf. It's a fine line.

Thanks. I never said it was spy or surf. It's just a instrumental guitar tune. The A section is a i/ii°/V7...The B section is a simple Andalusian cadence.
If anything, it has a Spanish/Latin flavor. :)

Brilliant. If ever I forget, this makes it clear to my why you scored movies. Perfect imagery for the scene you set. I think I like the rhythm guitar as much as the lead.

If they ever make a movie or TV show about him, there's your theme song, right there. I love the vibe, and the production.

Musically it's clearly Latin, yes, and nicely done.

Didn't mean to suggest it really is like spy or surf- that was just a passing first impression. Not trying to label your work as something it wasn't intended to be; I know that can be annoying.

Someone commented earlier that it sounded a bit like spy guitar to them and I just meant that I heard it too - more because I like that genre than because it actually was a pronounced presence in the piece.

Productionwise, there's that clean-electric-tone family that where surf/spy/Western coexist. Was discussing the overlap and distinctions with my musician son recently, so it's lingered near the surface of my thoughts.

I learned it from my Dad. This is from 1969. I was at the session...sitting next to Howard.

I do appreciate "where Kirk fought the Gorn" is being used as a cultural touchstone. You can ask me where most (real) historical events took place, and you'll be met with a blank stare and possibly eye twitching. However, say "where Kirk fought the Gorn," and I am instantly dialed in to exactly what you're talking about.
