The swirls on the black paint are completely acceptable, I wouldn't return for that reason. I'm not sure how I would feel about the white dots.

I just picked a tele this weekend that was on the bottom of a pile of other guitars on a workbench.
After a clean and some polish it looks at least as good as that guitar.
The big difference is I expected mine to be bad, but I was pleasantly surprised
Hopefully your experience doesn't ruin your opinion of a beautiful guitar. Cheers! 20211103_085141.jpg 20211103_085212.jpg

The white dots are imperfections in the finish. It could be debris embedded in the clear coat, which is what it looks like in the pictures. If so these will not buff off. It also possible they are air bubbles that were in the paint and turned white when it was level sanded, but since there were air bubbles they filled up with sanding dust and turned white, and then finished over.

I’d return or exchange it under warranty for faulty workmanship. They should just give you a new one?

Play it, enjoy it. It's a guitar it's going to get bashed, scratched bumped. I let go of all of those anxieties years ago, lost to much sleep.

The guitar arrived inside the Deluxe Molded Case and the cardboard box.
They opened the packaging with me.

I don't know maybe the shipping was delayed to Hong Kong?
But you are right, I don't know where was it for 4 months...

Yeah... I think the distributor, that music store don't want me to refund this guitar.

That's the only official distributor for Fender in Hong Kong.
And their service is quite bad.

Actually they are not swirls from the wood pattern, they are scratches on the surface.
Sorry for that my picture is not good.

Thank you very much for the photos.
It looks very nice and beautiful.

I may not buy Fender anymore...

Thank you very much for your explain, I think that's the reason why there are many white dots in the finish.

They just sold out the display model(Black) and Dark Navy Color, so they can't give me a new one.
And they don't have any warranty for guitars (Maybe only for the guitar pickup).
So they will charge me handling fee if I really want to refund it, but they said those white dots and scratches are not the reason to refund it.

Yeah I know but I expect this is the brand new guitar, should not be like that...

    Who is "they"?
The warranty is provided by the manufacturer, fender, not the store. You should have been provided all of the warranty information when you opened the case. It is normally found in the compartment inside. You should also have a list of "fender authorized service centers". I would think that there is one in Hong Kong.

Email fender customer service and ask.

You may consider a discount before polishing it yourself?

Not sure about Hong Kong but in the UK it’s down to the retailer regards warranty. The sale of contract the OP entered into is what counts. HK is a difficult one, though it was pretty much the same now that the politics have changed it may not be the case.

That “handling fee” is BS. That’s how they get you.

That would not bother me at all on a used guitar. But new? No way. Yes, black will show imperfections more than some other finishes. But that is totally unacceptable for a brand new $1500 guitar. If it were me I would be returning it or exchanging it for a different guitar. Sorry you had to wait 3 months for that.

I would ask for a discount, like I did with a black tele I bought many years ago. It had a scratch, but a week later I’d forgotten all about it.

    Seriously?
Holy sh¡t ...the retailer chooses whether to ...?
I never for, even moment, considered that fender wouldn't extend their warranty worldwide.
Being true, I have even less respect for them than I did before learning this. And I didn't know that that was a possibility.
