These are GFS "Premium II" Alnico II Hand Beveled Strat Set. http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Premium-II-Alnico-II-Hand-Bevelled-Strat-Set_p_337.html I bought these a couple years ago when they were $65 or so. Now, they're $25!!! What a steal!! Best $25 you'll ever spend! I also used a .047 PIO black candy cap. [edit] the $25 price is for ONLY the middle pickup. Apparently, that's all GF has in stock.
can i join??? just got this schecter parts assembly done. made the pickguard, neckplate, jackplate, and bridgeplate by hand with basic tools...old ash body from '80, pickup assembly from '78, neck from '83... with brass saddles and aluminum plate and bone nut, it zings and it sings...
Saw this guy in Edinburgh last night. Not many dudes around that can make a white strat sing like him.
I guess I need to get into this club as well...I just finished putting this Mary Kay white Partscaster together a couple of weeks ago.
Here is mine. It's a 1994 black label "squire series" mim. I replaced the p'ups with a set of "Blues Classic"'s from Alexander Pribora. All of the pots are Bourns a250k pots and both of the tone pots are push/pull that will write either the neck/middle or the bridge/middle in series (like a humbucker) when in either first or fifth position. The center is not wired to a tone pot. It has a custom made brass block with a term bar that doesn't wiggle as well as Babicz saddles. On the headstock is a set of Planet Waves auto trim tuners. Also refretted with Stew-Mac #147 fret wire.
Here is my '89 or '90 MIJ semi virgin. A co-worker had purchased this new, plunked around a day or 2 then put it up. It is all original down to the kitchen sink electronics, Dimarzio, and original Floyd. Only mods are an FU Tones brass block and trem stop. Rick ,
