It's being shipped from Sweetwater tomorrow, my new Player Tele in Butterscotch Blonde

BTW, this was a great comparison between the Player and American Professional models (not that the Pro was in my budget, but the Player sounded pretty darn good)

Can't thank you Tele guys enough. Sweetwater has actual photos of the specific guitar posted and here is mine.

Dude, you absolutely got to have both Tele and Strat. Everything else is a bonus but these two are essential.

Here are my number one Strat and Tele and I love them both. [IMG][IMG]

My Player Tele arrived yesterday. It's beautiful.

    Perfect condition from Sweetwater.

It wasn't anywhere close to being in tune, but that was quickly remedied.

It's the Butterscotch Blonde on the left. My Player Strat is on the right and American Special in the middle. Whoopee!

Good work! Butterscotch is the "correct" colour for a Tele, of course. Enjoy your new guitar.

The more I read this thread, the more I feel I'm missing out by not having a Tele. Even worse, I actually have enough money for a second hand Squier CV50s one. I just have to resist it long enough to buy the Epiphone Dot I've been wanting for the past 6 months...

OK. So now that this horrible misconception is out of the way, the question becomes “which tele should you buy”? :p

My main guitar for thirty years was an Am Std Tele. Last year I finally got Strat Fever and now own three. They're fabulous guitars and I dig the comfort in playing and versatility in tone of the Strat. But now when I pick up my old Tele again after stratting it up for awhile, I'm blown away by how punchy and raw those Tele pups are. It is really a raw, simple, beautiful machine that gets me right back down to basics in a snap.

    Leo Fender was a genius!

I know exactly what you’re saying. The Tele was a gateway to the Strat and now I too have three but whenever I grab the Tele it’s just a tone monster. I’m still nuts for Strats but the Tele is what it is.

Teles are great.... l play a strat always though an really for one simple reason. .... my go to move is to hold a note or chord and work the 5 way back and forth fast to create that Hendrix vibe if you know what l mean? But if a tele had a 5 way ld buy it l......they look awesome and that bridge pup screams
