Oh, absolutely! Although I've never been to it, this event takes place just over the mountain from me. Noxen, Pennsylvania (noxenpa.com)

They built a big 88 windmill wind farm here also, they had to move and relocate a bunch of them before they could build it.

I am very wary when I'm out in the yard, apparently they cross through here the neighbors tell me.

When I do yardwork, I get exercise and fresh air. Everything else is a bonus.

Go back, and read post # 28, which is a brief history. I'll be happy to explain any words you don't understand.

I’m very lucky to have neighbors that take pride in the ownership of their homes. That being said, I don’t really care what other people do with their property. Of course, that could possibly change if we were to put our house on the market.

I'm not sure on that. I'd have thought so IF it's fairly obvious

My Godparents had about an acre and a half of property. It backs onto forest which is likely owned by the province. The house is a modest split level mid century home with about 2400 sq ft. When I first saw it as a little kit is was a pretty wild lot. Forested by the road, driveway up to the house then a mix of grass and blackberry bushes to the forest. They solved part of it by putting in a pool and then they got rid of the blackberry bushes and put in grass. They had a riding mower and it still took some time to cut all the grass. I'm happy with my little lawns. As it stands, I've got no room for a riding mower.

Live in a gated community in Florida with a Home Owners Association (HOA) and you have no choice but to conform. If not, they will fine you, and may even have a third party "correct" YOUR problem and put a lien on your property for the amount it costs. Retirees on the HOA board, with nothing better to do, can be your worst nightmare.

I just drop the deck as low as it will go and mow. Eventually I’ll stop scalping that root as it loses a mm one pass a time! No week killer no grass seed. I mow what I got amd mow it low so I don’t have to as often

Put me in the camp that enjoys yard work - it's relaxing to me - and likes to keep a nice lawn. That said, I'm not obsessive or wasteful about it, but we've developed a very nice outdoor living space that we like to spend time in.

Criticizing anyone for keeping a nice lawn just seems petty and kind of pointless, IMHO, but to each his own...

I know someone who is a winter mows my grass person. And I know someone who is out there with the scissors to get it just right. I’m somewhere in between. I like my grass as short as possible but I won’t water it or anything like that.

Besides the TRILLIONS people mindlessly spent, on what used to be a status symbol, but has slowly evolved into the established, expected, "norm" ? Ask the average homeowner "Why do you have a lawn?" The typical answer will be akin to "Because everybody else does.". Ask "What tangible purpose does a lawn serve ?" --[C R I C K E T S] ----

But millions of folks are out there, forking over hundreds of dollars, on lawn care, and no idea of where the whole idea of lawns even came from, not for one second considering how utterly useless a lawn actually is, to them. They're completely oblivious to the insane waste, that is a lawn.

The problem is, if you leave a tiny piece, it comes back. And it may come back thicker.

Surveyors aren't allowed to move things.
They can only see what's in their field of view.
