I don’t care for clown burst strats but I love classic 2TSB and subtle 3TSB

No lies here....the grain is gorgeous...the paint job is hideous. You guys love it, more power to you..but to me...its just ugly. That said, I'm fine with other bursts. Cherry burst, I have two...reverse silver burst, have one. Really love the sky burst on the Elite Strats, have seen other bursts I'd love (Angela Petrelli's custom pink burst is really nice), but you can keep your dull, ugly, plain, uninteresting brown burst.

I agree. Although I do love my Aged Cherry Burst Strat, a Heritage Cherry Burst LP is one of the last LP Burst colors that I would choose. In fact, my long time plan was to get a Bourbon Burst LP Standard, which I did get in 2017.

IMO I love the sunburst, already own 3 guitars with it. Looking to buy my first strat now, trying to avoid the sunburst only because I don't want my whole collection to be the same.

Are you sure it's the burst that's the problem on that guitar?

We definitely have different tastes. All of those you named are equally hideous to me, lol. But to each his own, my comment was just intended as a little hyperbole.

I was never a fan of the sienna burst. On a strat, I like the "fade to black" on the edges of either a well done 3 tone burst or a 2 tone burst. Olympic white wouldn't be kicked out of my collection either :).

Cherry sunburst LPs...blech! I prefer the honeyburst on those, as well as desert burst. I dislike the bursts on LPs where they paint the back of the guitar black. So much gorgeous woodgrain covered up...such a shame. The back of my honeyburst looks just as gorgeous as the front.

Sunburst has become a classic, and like it usually happens with classics, kids usually find it boring. I dont know where is stand there because I get it and I find it boring but at the same time I love a classic haha.

I own a white strat with rosewood fingerboard (classic), a 3TSB telecaster (classic), a 3TSB Jazz Bass (classic), but my last acquisition is a lake placid blue strat with maple board (not a classic imho).

Idk, to each their own... If everybody hates SB and you dont, good for you, youre gonna get better deals!

Really getting tired of the use of the word "hate". Just because someone doesn't prefer, or care for, something doesn't mean that they HATE it. Just as when someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they HATE you. HATE has recently been turned into a politically polarizing word...as in all the HATERS out there who don't agree with someones political point of view. Don't like rap/hip-hop music..your a hater AND a racist. Sorry for the rant, but .....

When i was a kid, i did not like the sunburst style.
It reminded me of "an old person's color".

I must say, now that I'm an older person, I love a good sunburst.
My tobacco burst is a lovely guitar

It's an internet thing. Take a hundred people and you'll find 10 who don't like something in a normal human way. But put them on the internet and one of them will dial his outrage up to 11 for some idiotic reason - the lulz, or because he had a bad day, or they're just a jerk. Multiply that by the population of the internet and you'll find hordes of people who hate puppies or cookies... or both.
