Yes, he will always be Blair from The Thing to me. Probably just because I continue to watch The Thing far more than any healthy person should.
Brimley had that unusual look where he appeared to be far older than he was; he seemed to have been an old guy since the mid-1980s.
He was only 51 years old when he was playing an old guy in a retirement community in Cocoon in 1985. 51!
I became a fan after he seeing him as the US Attorney in Absence of Malice.
That's such a great film.
