I’m setting up this wiring but using a CTS DPDT pot(see photo) the setup shows a wire going from the pot to the top on the switch casing but the CTS has all plastic on top. How would I perform this? Thanks for the help!

Solder the ground wires to the side of the pot case.

Exactly what @Believer7713 said. I never seen a switch isolated from the pot, so if you ground to pot you're good.

So I don’t need to go from the pot to the switch, like they do in the diagram? What is the reason they do this?

Never had to... also never seen a wiring diagram recommending this. The only reason you would need to do this is if the switch casing was isolated from the pot casing. But as I said, I never seen this...

Here's a similar diagram from SeymourDuncan...Probably not what you are trying to do, but includes a push-pull swith.

Bourne Pots with DPDT switches have this solder tab (@OP's illustration). The DPDT has a metal cage around it and grounding it also shields it. Two for one special.

There is an electrical connection, if not an obvious mechanical one.

Another version of this has the second tone pot as a "blender" volume for the neck pickup. The volume and remaining tone get wired Telecaster style.

You can use a push-pull, a push-push being better with Strat shaped knobs IMHO, to cut off the blender if you like. If you wire the blender my way its only active in P1 and P2 as well.

That is only to ground the case of the switch for shielding.
The CTS switch is plastic, thus, no need (or ability) to shield it.
Your connections will all go to the board.
Here's a "translation" for the CTS switch.

I would also move the capacitor to the second tone pot and rewire the ground away from the CTS pushpull pot like this.

    Ground the metal case

Why need to know how basics are done , ground metal casing .. than use brand names CTS.
All these pots maybe out of the same factory with the same ISO9001 quality check.
