wouldn't bother me at all. I like distinctive marks, if it's ever stolen you'll know it's yours.

As long as the surface is smooth. But ask GC for a compensation

Why would you want to exchange it? It's a piece of wood that's exhibiting a feature of wood. It makes no difference to the value whatsoever. If ever it's stolen you'll have a useful identifying mark.

I’m in the “makes me like it more” camp. It’s not damage...it’s a distinctive trait. I think grain pattern and marks are super cool...especially on strats because so few of them have transparent finish on the body.

Looks like that's where the worms tried to crawl out!

Seriously, that's a beauty of a neck, but if you're gonna obsess about that little knot being there then who are we to tell you to keep it?

Mine looks like a cig burn but it's a knot.
    Don't feel it, don't bother me...much

I appreciate everyone's replies. Definitely going to keep it and accept the knot as something unique.

I'm wondering if it's worth it try and get some $ back for it. Don't want to hassle GC staff if it will just be a few dollars.

Think of it as the maple tree ---having preknowledge of its destiny to ultimately become EJ necks--- providing you with a special position marker that only *YOUR* neck was graced with!

The knot in one of mine is one of the things that drew me to it. It is completely unique.

It’s a mineral streak and they are fantastic. No way I would as a music store for compensation over a natural occurring phenomenon. 7835FDED-14C3-463C-862E-E1721DA109FD.jpeg
