Heavy Metal was 3% of the 2018 music market.

It's going to take a really significant breakout artist to bring it any kind of recognition again.

99% of people could not name a single new metal band from last year.

Santana and Fogerty..but I guess I'd have to wait for Fogerty to come up, so I'd check out Robert Plant. But it all depends on whether or not I got a free ticket.

    Who needs a ticket?

Get together with your friends and tear down the fence, like the peaceful hippies used to do.

    Any guesses on ticket prices?

    Woodstock1 was $24 ($170 in today's money) for 25 bands
    Woodstock 1999 was $160 ($244 in today's money) for 108 bands

I’d like to see them re-stage their performance today!

Just like Woodstock1, some will, some wont.

At Woodstock 1999, MUSE was unknown, on the "Emerging Artist Stage" and now they are the biggest Prog Rock band in the world.

Obviously mega performers like The Killers, Jay-Z, Common and the like, have already been around for 20-35 years, so it's not much of a stretch to think that they'll stick around for a few more.

Whenever old men are bltching that some Hip Hop group or the Mighty Bosstones have dancers on stage that don't sing or play instruments, I always remind them that Sha Na Na did it at Woodstock.

    They were friggin' trailblazers!

A few reasons not to attend:
    1. Ticket prices (these are scary, not sure if accurate) VS real value of event
    2. Inevitable travel, lodging, food/water & restroom headaches (& predictable price-gouging)
    3. Genuine risk of disease, physical danger & death from insane people

I'd be surprised if he didn't, even though he doesn't have near the vocal range anymore.

Right, I checked too at http://www.musicfestivaltickets.org and saw this for the cheapest ones:

    General Admission
    Row GA11-3 or 5 Tickets
    $614/ea

And that was the least expensive. They go up well into the thousands.

Ticket prices have not been announced yet, so those are just suckers.

You got to get your shots before you go.
