My mushrooms come from cans … thank you .
I want to grow ****ake mushrooms. Have the perfect spot for it. Just need a few hardwood logs, a 1" drill bit, the spawn, and injector thing to put the spawn into the log, wax to seal the hole, a melter for the wax, a tarp, a large vat to dunk the logs in cold water before the mushrooms emerge, and something else I can't remember.
Eh, screw it. I'll just buy them at the store.
EDIT: I can't believe autocensor just censored the mushroom type!
That's definitely not the kind you eat. Yes, I've had Shrooms, I laughed, I cried... At the same time for about 4 hours.
I use to feel a like mushroom at work sometimes; was fed crap and kept in the dark.
That looks like a tree fungus to me.
When I was in survival school in the military, that was pretty much it on mushrooms. Instructors said they didn't have the time to go through mushrooms, especially when some are almost identical to a poisonous counter part. That's been my view ever since. I can find something to eat, especially in KY, that's totally safe to eat. that I don't have to worry about it. Truth be told, I don't even like edible mushrooms.
Morels are common around here. But anything else, no. I'm not familiar with mushrooms & etc. But I have read ghastly stories on the internet about accidental poisonings. I think it was the Horse Whisperer writer & his family who had to have organ transplants after eating the deadly variety...
if you DO eat foraged mushrooms, a pro tip is always to keep one uncooked or unprepared, so if you need paramedics etc they will be able to identify it, and hopefully the toxins - can save valuable time, and maybe your life. I've done plenty of food foraging, taken courses on it, etc - and i don't go near wild mushrooms, as i'm not confident enough - and there are plenty of them that look 99% identical to the edible ones. I'm 100% ok with identifiying psilocybin, mind you....
Wouldn't eat shelf fungus - very tough and woody.
DO NOT eat random mushrooms without a 100% positive ID that it is safe to eat.
Ate these Morels a few weeks back. Delicious!
I hate mushrooms. Looks like that tree has a STD or something
i'm ok with the kind safe for salad and pizza.
There are old mushroom hunters and there are bold mushroom hunters.
But there are no old bold mushroom hunters.
Yeah they're real fun guys.....
...I'll get my coat
No way I would eat them if I wasn't 110% sure.
I wouldn't even go within six feet of them.
When I come to world domination, I am making mushrooms illegal. Horrible things.
