    Hey guys,

I love Shell Pink Strats but unfortunately as much as I'd love to convince myself I don't care, I'd probably feel a little self conscious about gigging out with one. Has anyone gigged with one and have you gotten comments like "why are you playing a girl guitar?"

YES!! That is my ultimate dream!! Shell pink is my fave color of all!!! The only Shell Pink stuff I can afford is $200 and less Squier strats with thinner bodies. If I could find a full thickness body for cheap my #1 would have a shell pink body right now.

If somebody told me it was a girl guitar, I would reply to them in the most effeminate lispy homosexual sounding voice I could muster, and say 'well I gueth you're not getting any from me tonight"

Yes. I like to entertain people. Rocking a pink Strat just adds to the joy someone may feel when they see you play it, especially if you're ruling on it.

I would definitely gig with one if it were the last Strat on Earth lol. My preference is white, black or burst of some kind.

No, I wouldn't, but if you feel comfortable in your own skin, let your skills speak for you, and gig with any guitar you want, and as far as the loud mouth goes, tell him his mother bought it for you in appreciation the the great time you had together.:D

I like shell pink. Calling it a girl's guitar is stupid and ignorant. My response would be something like "Yeah, tell your mom she can pick up her guitar anytime she likes".

As a grown adult, no I wouldn’t care.
Associating colors with gender is just nuts really.

LOL I'd feel like saying that but would you really say that to a drunk person and not expect trouble?

    It's salmon! It's obviously salmon!

Wouldn't bother me a bit. It's a nice color. But I would think the quality of the player vastly overwhelms any instrument color choice.

That's the secondary purpose of the strap button on the heel...put a stamp of disapproval right on the forehead.

If the venue was dark enough, it could happen.

I think the question is much deeper here,

1.Have you been playing live yet?

If you’re going to have a first time experience, might want to go under the radar there as much as possible so you can concentrate on the million things happening out there for the first time...

2.How comfortable are you in front of a crowd/behind your guitar?

If being shy about your playing/playing in front of an audience is an issue, once again, going under the radar with a sunburst is again a good idea

3.what kind of music do you play?

The only thing here is that anything over hardrock on a pink guitar is VERY marginal and might just be a little off putting for the whole band vibe...

    It’s all about being comfortable!

I would gig it all day. Shell pink is my fav colour. Too bad there are no fender options for reasonable prices.

I could play/remember the cord changes
    Keep in time
    And
    Get a gig...

    Well, no.
Unless it's refinished in another colour.
But I once played a shell pink AVRI few years ago.... Damn if it was a good sounding one.... But I couldn't afford it at that time and the colour..... Was just not for me.
