Admin Post My sister postponed her weddibg (originally in May) to October... but I don't know if I'll be ready to take 2 11-hour flights by then, or attend an indoor reception. Things will have to be much better, and probably a treatment available for me to go.
I have 2 weddings that will happen with or without me and yes I will be there for my kids however I have to dress, mask up, distance from, or whatever. And I still get up and go to work everyday as I am deemed essential on an essential project.
It’s because of idiots like this is why the virus is as bad as it is. If it were me I’d decline and send a nice card and gift. If you went and got the virus and died you'd sure wish you hadn't gone.
Just pretend you're going to a riot, because apparently covid doesn't affect rioters and no social distancing required.
I'd go to a wedding this afternoon if I were invited. Just don't lick the doorknobs, you'll be fine. Don't make out with any groomsmen, you'll be fine. Not one to brag, but I washed my hands and practiced regular hygiene long before it was cool to do so. Howie Mandel style? Maybe not. But enough to have survived the past 47 years. There's gonna be a day when one will need to venture out into the great unknown again.
My ER Doc, sister in law used to be a little blasé about the kids running around, picking their noses and generally being messy little kids. She used to say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Now she’s more along the lines of what doesn’t kill you might kill me or the next person so wash your damn hands and don’t pick your nose. I agree... We will venture into the great unknown again... I’m planning on heading back out without a care in the world, as soon as there’s a viable treatment or a vaccine. Until then, I’ve got my projects at home, my guitars and lots of theory books to brush up on.
But, on one (less nose picky) hand it's always been like that. That's how we evolve and move forward, just like from the dawn of human's time here on the 3rd rock from the sun. Some get cancer. Some can smoke well into their 90's. Some get HIV and are gone in months, some have a little "Magic" Johnson in them. I dunno..... I've had the "regular" flu many a time. Yet I'm here typing this. I've had pneumonia and survived too. Here I am. My brother's good friend had a wife in her 40's die from pneumonia a number of years ago. Humans have been at war with virus' since the beginning. Sure this one is tricky. They all are when they are "new" and "unknown" and well, sure.....deadly to some. But life goes on, the world is still turning. We gotta get back to normal some time. Whatever that is for you, me, or the next guy.
my realtor's daughter is supposed to be getting married in October and they're not even sure if it's going to happen. August? No, too soon.
